Jungheinrich Takes up Pole Position at CeMAT 2011 With a Series-mature Lithium Ion Truck
Jungheinrich presents for the first time an electric pedestrian truck with lithium ion technology to the trade at CeMAT 2011. This truck solution will, for example, make the classical “chain store application” and taking the truck along on a lorry even more efficient.
The Hamburg intralogistics experts present for the first time a series truck with lithium ion technology on the Jungheinrich AG exhibition stand (Pavilion 33/34 and open air area, Hanover). The truck is actively involved in the process of unloading lorries during the material flow show on the Jungheinrich exhibition stand. “The presented lithium ion truck is the consequential further development of a technology trend from our concept truck presented to the trade at CeMAT 2008. I am very pleased about the speedy implementation of this drive technology. First field tests are already running”, says Hans-Georg Frey, Chairman of the Board of Management at Jungheinrich. These lithium ion trucks can already be ordered from summer 2011.
BestInvest: Jungheinrich Puts Special Emphasis on Customer Benefits
Jungheinrich presents its complete performance range to the trade at CeMAT 2011: From trucks and racking via systems and processes to tailor-made financial services products. An important aspect here is the costs arising over the entire lifespan of investments.
Jungheinrich calls this reflection on costs from the customer’s point of view BestInvest. BestInvest is presented for the first time at CeMAT 2011. “Behind it is a very clear statement: The customer receives the best performance for his money from Jungheinrich!”, says Dr. Helmut Limberg, Member of the Board of Management, Sales and Marketing, at Jungheinrich. “Many call this Total Cost of Ownership or also Total Cost of Operations”, Limberg continues. “Jungheinrich call this promise to customers BestInvest!”
Jungheinrich and MGL METRO GROUP Logistics are Developing Sustainable Logistics Solutions
Jungheinrich AG in cooperation with MGL METRO GROUP Logistics is pressing ahead with developing sustainable technologies in the logistics branch. Environment-preserving trucks from Jungheinrich are thus ensuring the smooth order of logistics processes in the new Fish Logistics Centre of the MGL METRO GROUP Logistics in the Hessian Gross-Gerau. Both companies are at this location testing the efficient application of wind energy.
Processes at the MGL METRO GROUP Logistics site in Gross-Gerau are not only extremely efficient but also environment-friendly. The building completed last year was awarded the “German seal of quality for effective construction“. Jungheinrich and MGL are testing the efficient use of wind energy for fork lift truck operations at this site. The current for charging the battery-operated fork lift trucks is generated by a state-of-the-art wind power plant directly on site. The vertically installed type in Gross-Gerau (Hesse) generates current of approximately 9,000 kilowatt hours per annum.
New Reach Truck from Jungheinrich
Jungheinrich presents a new reach truck to the international trade at CeMAT 2011. The truck achieves up to ten percent more throughput efficiency with considerably lower energy consumption compared with the previous model.
Jungheinrich introduces a completely redeveloped reach truck of the type ETM/ETV 214/216 in the market. One of its main characteristics is its up to ten percent higher throughput efficiency. This is mainly the result of increased lifting and lowering speeds as well as much improved acceleration of the new truck.
The electronic control of the ETM/ETV 214/216 together with the software – also developed by Jungheinrich – was tailored to the motor performance of the truck. “Despite higher throughput efficiency, the energy consumption could be reduced by a further ten percent“, says Joachim Schier, Head of Product Management for Reach Trucks at Jungheinrich.
Jungheinrich Presents Own Truck Fleet Management
Jungheinrich presents an all-embracing Fleet Management System for the first time at CeMAT 2011.
The new Jungheinrich fleet management system is called ISM Online (information system for truck management). The system is able to manage, analyse and optimise truck fleets independent of their size and complexity. Jungheinrich has created a tool that allows the user to increase transparency and safety in his own warehouse and to control his truck fleet more efficiently across several sites – also country-overlapping.
Jungheinrich With a New Electric Pedestrian Straddle Stacker
Jungheinrich presents a new electric pedestrian truck in wide gauge design at CeMAT 2011. The truck was specifically designed for handling perimeter-based pallets.
The new Jungheinrich truck type EJC B14/16 is an electric pedestrian straddle stacker. The truck is particularly suitable for the flexible handling of special goods due to its wide gauge design. The truck is able to pass under the load unit when picking up a load due to sideways pulled out support arms and forged forks that can be lowered to the ground. “It is therefore possible to pick up perimeter-based pallets crossways, the same as with a counterbalance truck”, explains Stefan Hirt, Head of Product Management for Pedestrian Trucks at Jungheinrich.
Jungheinrich Presents the Wide Aisle Navigation System
By applying the “wide aisle navigation system” module, the opportunities provided by the Jungheinrich warehouse navigation can now also be used for freely manoeuvrable fork lift trucks. This module works similarly to a car navigation system.
At CeMAT 2011, Jungheinrich will for the first time present warehouse navigation that can be used in wide aisles (and therefore also on racking aprons). “That means that in future it will be possible to manage processes outside narrow aisles even more efficiently and safely”, says Dr. Kai Beckhaus, Head of Process Solutions at Jungheinrich. “Since the very successful market launch of Jungheinrich warehouse navigation in narrow aisles more than two years ago, up to 25 percent higher throughput efficiency can now be achieved.”
Jungheinrich Unveils New Truck Guidance System
This module optimises transport orders and distributes them to suitable fork lift trucks in the warehouse. Visitors to CeMAT will be able to experience the new Jungheinrich truck guidance system live in a simulated application.
The Jungheinrich truck guidance system is able to avoid unnecessary empty truck runs in the warehouse through intelligent strategies. The truck guidance system sends suitable trucks at the right time to the nearest location. “This innovation does not only add transparency and efficiency to a logistics system, but also conserves resources and thus protects the environment,” says Dr. Alexander Ulbrich, Jungheinrich WMS Product Manager.
Jungheinrich Presents the Driverless Transport System
At CeMAT 2011 Jungheinrich presents a new truck solution: the Auto Pallet Mover (APM). This application of the APM will lead to significant efficiency increases in logistic processes.
The Jungheinrich Auto Pallet Mover (APM) is an automated guided truck designed to move independently around the warehouse. The main application area of the driverless transport system will be handling routine transport jobs — for instance, from incoming goods or from production to a transfer point at the racking. The Hamburg-based company will be presenting this innovative truck solution to a world audience at CeMAT 2011. The application of the Jungheinrich APM will lead to significant efficiency increases in logistic processes.
Jungheinrich Presents New Battery-Powered Pedestrian Stacker
Jungheinrich has launched a new electric pedestrian truck in the market in spring 2011. The truck will be officially presented to the international trade at the CeMAT 2011 in Hanover.
The new Jungheinrich ERC 212/214/216 tiller operated truck combines the manoeuvrability of an electric pedestrian stacker with the benefits of quick and comfortable stand-on operation. Based on a completely redesigned platform, the truck is already on sale on the market in the run-up to CeMAT 2011.
New Jungheinrich Tow Tractor Handles Loads of Up to 4 Tonnes
Jungheinrich continues to expand its range of tow tractors. At CeMAT 2011 the Hamburg-based company is premiering a new vehicle specially designed for driving over varying floor surfaces.
Characterised by its excellent versatility and low operating costs, the new Jungheinrich EZS C40 tow tractor is designed to tow trailers up a maximum weight of 4,000 kilogrammes. The transport volume can be varied at will by coupling the number of trailers actually required for the particular operation. The tow tractor is based on Jungheinrich’s EZS 350 XL, which was originally unveiled at CeMAT 2005. Apart from super-elastic tyres and the associated adaptation of the drive chamber, a key difference compared with the basic tractor involves the increased ground clearance to one hundred millimetres.
